Some homeowners in Rock Hill, South Carolina, are frustrated over ongoing Riverwalk community property defects. They claim they’ve reported these issues for years, but the problems remain unresolved.
Riverwalk Community Property Defects Remain Unfixed Despite Complaints
Residents say they have repeatedly contacted the builder, who also owns the property, but the issues persist. They have also reported concerns to the city of Rock Hill multiple times without success.
One homeowner, Vera Hammond, believes her home was poorly built. After a storm caused roof damage, contractors inspected it and found construction flaws. She has also recorded videos showing flooding inside her home during heavy rain and ceiling water damage.
Other homeowners report similar problems. Judy Lamothe says her roof has leaked, causing water stains inside. She and her husband also had to dig new drainage lines because the original system was too close to their house.
Despite these complaints, an attorney representing the builder and property owner says they have attempted to work with residents. However, a resolution has not been reached. The attorney also states that homeowners with active warranties can file complaints to have their homes repaired. Residents say they are still within their warranty period.
Frustrated by the lack of action, homeowners have planned a rally in March to push for solutions.
