Myrtle Beach Fire Suspect Charged for Negligence
Officials say Alexandra Bialousow, 40, is facing charges for not preventing a fire from spreading beyond her backyard. On March 6th, she was charged with allowing fire to spread to another’s property and unlawfully starting a fire in woodlands or grasslands without necessary precautions.
Fire Started in a Backyard Near a Tree Line
Witnesses reported seeing Bialousow start a fire in a backyard fire pit on March 1st. The fire pit was near a tree line in the Covington Lakes Subdivision. According to investigators, she did not have water or tools nearby to control the flames.
Authorities say the fire quickly spread to land owned by the Walker Woods HOA. Several neighbors saw the incident and reported it to law enforcement.
Bialousow could face fines and jail time for the escaped debris burn linked to the Covington Drive Fire if convicted.
