What Documents Do I Need to Submit An ARC Request?

When submitting an ARC request, you should try to provide enough supporting documentation so that the proposed project is clearly understood. For example-

Fences – contractor information, pictures of the proposed fence, and a survey with the location of the fence delineated are recommended.
Exterior Paint – a picture of the house as it is currently as proposed pictures/paint swatches of the new colors are recommended.
Screened Porch – a property survey, contractor drawings/brochure, and a detailed description of materials are recommended.

If the request is not submitted with enough supporting information, it may be rejected due to insufficient information, which will delay you receiving the approval for your project.

How Long Will It Take To Receive a Decision For My Request?

Most communities are allowed a 30 day review period, however, the review period for your community may be different based on your governing documents. Please refer to your communities governing documents for specifics.

It Has Been A Few Weeks Since I Submitted My Request And I Have Not Heard Back.

Please check the status of your ARC Request directly on your Portal Dashboard.

Do I Need to Submit An ARC Request?

Anytime you are making exterior changes, upgrades, or replacements, we recommend that you submit an ARC request. Each HOA has their own specific guidelines and rules about what is allowed and not allowed in a community. If you want to change the exterior of your home in any way, we would always caution you to submit an ARC Request and keep your approval letter on file for the future.

What Do I Do If My Request Was Denied?

If your ARC request was denied, you will need to submit a NEW request for approval. All denial letters should be clear as to why the ARC Request was denied. Often, ARC requests are denied because they go against the governing documents.
Ex: ARC Request for a Chain Link Fence
CCR’s or ARC Guidelines State: No Chain Link Fences allowed.

Your first step would be identifying *why* your request was denied so that you can update your plans. Then, you must resubmit a new request with changes that meet the CCR’s or Guidelines for your community.
