Cameron Station trash bin removal became a major concern after residents found their trash containers taken without warning. The situation created confusion because many residents suddenly had no place to dispose of household waste. The issue stemmed from a contract dispute between the HOA and its former hauler.
Cameron Station Trash Bin Removal Sparks Community Frustration
Neighbors in the Cameron Station community said the removal happened right after the trash trucks finished their usual pickup. Residents explained that the HOA ended its contract with the current hauler and planned to switch to a cheaper company next year. They added that this was the only update they received before the bins disappeared.
One resident shared that he stepped outside and realized he had nowhere to place his trash. Another neighbor said she learned she no longer had a container when she tried to dispose of waste on Monday morning. She recalled that the company collected the trash, returned shortly after, and loaded everyone’s bins into the truck.
Some residents said the sudden change might cause sanitary and safety problems. They worried about animals tearing into bags and vehicles hitting loose trash. Others said the timing felt especially difficult for families managing diapers and other daily waste.
A new parent said he could bag the diapers for now, yet the growing pile would become a problem soon. He suggested that people often forget how critical basic waste services are until they stop.
Residents said management mentioned that the new hauler might start earlier than scheduled to ease the problem.
