Living in a community comes with many benefits for you and your family. The majority of communities have planned social events that can be enjoyed by everyone. This is a great way to make new friends for you and your children, especially if you have recently moved to a new area. Take advantage of these events in your neighborhood which typically are free to enjoy. Neighbors are also a great resource for taking care of your home while you are away on vacation. They can check your mail, watch your dog, or even pull your trash to the curb while you are on vacation. It is a nice feeling to know that someone is keeping a watch on your home while you are away. Most communities have a newsletter or website that can be used for networking with other neighbors. This is a great way to find other neighbors that may have a service that you are looking for right down the street from you. I know I have found many great babysitters and dog sitters in my community.
Let your community work for you by taking advantage of all that they offer. Be a good neighbor and you will have good neighbors!
